Jane Iredale D2O Hydration Spray

Earlier this month the UK was hit by a mini heatwave and we were subject to the hottest July day on record. I am not particularly good in the heat and the merest glimpse of an orange triangle (let alone a red one) on the weather forecast and those around me are bracing themselves for a rough ride. As soon as temperatures rise above 25OC (yes I am that intolerant of heat) I am reaching for products and items to relieve my heat induced misery...

Having exhausted the bottle of facial spritz I had on the go (the Odylique Calming Rose Super Tonic), my attentions turned to this...

Jane Iredale D2O Hydration Spray

Formulated for normal to dry skins, D2O is designed to hydrate and plump skin cells. Not being a skincare specialist (or a scientist), I can't claim to know whether this is possible or not, however the fine refreshing spritz is perfect for misting over hot, irritated skins and for calming the temperaments of their equally irritated owners.

One of three Hydration Sprays in the Jane Iredale stable (Pommisst and Balance are the others), I always keep a bottle in my mineral make-up kit. If you are a mineral make-up user then this spray is perfect for setting loose mineral foundations and for improving longevity of wear. Additionally, if like me you prefer matte mineral bases over shimmery one but fancy something a little more youthful than the usual finish, spritz a little of this over your base and it will leave your skin looking dewy and radiant - It can also be used to dampen down powder eyeshadows to create an eyeliner!

Make-up benefiting qualities aside, D2O as a beautiful scent. If you aren't one for essential oils then step away now - the basis of this spray is Ylang Ylang and Chamomile. It has a lovely floral scent however it is a very heavy floral (if that makes sense?), there is no getting away from it. I love essential oils (I have been dabbling since I was about 14) but very much have a preference for woody oils over most (not all) florals, however I love the headiness of this.

D2O Hydration Spray is priced at £15.95 and available online from Beauty Time Therapies

Jane Iredale is one of those 'Not-organic-but-nearly' brand, formed in 1994. The first cosmetics line to provide a comprehensive range of mineral based make-up, Jane Iredale avoid the use of nano-sized particles in their products and the range is free from talcs and parabens and is completely cruelty free.
